Dublin, day 4

Hello there,

Today I didn't really spend time in Dublin, for I had to go to the airport quite early. But I did want to share the lovely view I had this morning - and, of course, as usually my new travel trophy!

Flying back to the Netherlands at 12:45. See you later! ✈

Dublin, day 3

Hi there!

Today I planned to go to Howth. It was about 45 minutes with the train. I didn't mind the ride, because the sight was so beautiful!  When I arrived at Howth, I was stunned by the beautiful view. Howth is located at a coast with a very wild sea. The smell of fresh fish and the salty sea welcomes you when you set your first step out of the train.
I went hiking and took a tour of four hours. Quite long, but I had the most amazing views up there. This is a place I will never forget.

When I got back on the train I was so tired I decided to just sit a while longer. Somehow I winded up at the National Museum of Ireland, so I went inside. It was a very nice museum - admission free.

In the evening I went back to Temple Bar and had a pizza with a Guinness. At my last night I just spent wandering through the streets until my legs got tired. What a beautiful city it is. I'm really going to miss it.

Dublin, day 2

What a lovely weather today! I went for a city tour organized by Isaacs Hostel. The guide was so funny and while I'm usually not so fond of tours this one was very nice. The tour guide, Rex, was funny and knew just how to pass on his knowledge of the beautiful city. I went to Temple bar as well and afterwards I enjoyed a Guinness on my own. What a lovely, charming place this is!
I also bought a book on Irish fairy and folktales 🍀

Dublin, day 1

Hello!

So far so good. I've arrived in Dublin and walked a little bit through the center before actually going to the hostel. I'm sharing the room with 5 others, I'm very curious how it will be! My first impressions are: what a beautiful city, a little bit similar to Amsterdam (lots of pubs and lots of people smoking weed 😉)

Have a good one!

Unknown Destination

Hi there!

The 21st of October is almost there... the day of my first srprs.me trip ever! I already received the envelope with scratch card and a black envelope with the boarding passes... I am so excited! The weather forecast looks pretty much the same as the weather here in the Netherlands...
If you want to follow me, here is the link where my destination will be shown when I've scratched the card!

Keep tuned!

Oxford, day 3

Our last day together... it felt very weird. We both were kinda tired, but we decided to go find some new bed linen for the place Ron is staying now. His mother had suggested to get us some old-fashioned bed sheets. Challenge accepted! ;)
Later in the evening we went to a very nice pub called The white rabbit where we had our last meal together. We also drank Guinness and a beer called Oxford student beer (I think?)
I had to catch my bus at 01:00. It was a very quiet evening, very hard for both of us. When it was time to go to the bus station, I thought I'd never felt worse. It's hard, leaving the one you love behind. But at least he has a house to stay, and I think he will have a great time in the labs of Oxford University! :)
I already got tickets to visit him at the end of the month (couldn't wait any longer) so now I just have to wait 25 days until I see him again )

Oxford, day 2

On our second day, it was time to get to know Oxford better... and how nice, we ran into a Bubble tea shop! I think Ron will spend lots of time there while studying ;)
Ron had decided to take the room we had viewed yesterday, so we went to get the keys. Afterwards we had sushi, yummy!

Oxford, day 1

Hello there,
Finally I found the time to update my blog. So much has been going on - preparing for my Master, a lot of working - but today I found some time to work on this blog! :)
Our first day in Oxford was lovely. We didn't get much sleep - we were on our way to the airport at 04:00. When we arrived at London Luton, we took the bus to Oxford. A very long drive, I think it was about 2,5 hours. At Oxford, we were immediately charmed by the old houses. We went to a little café to look for a place to stay on the internet. First hit was a lovely guest house at 59F Lake street - and it was so nice! We had a studio with our own kitchen and bathroom. Our hosts immediately offered us tea (how English!) Furthermore, we did some grocery shopping and Ron was busy trying to get a viewing. We didn't know yet that it would be very easy to find him a nice student apartment... We actually had our first viewing that day!

Stockholm, day 9

Our last day in Stockholm... mostly spent in Gamla stan and now at the airport Arlanda. We enjoyed a very nice dessert at Chocoladkoppen (iced chocolate milk and a "blueberry dream ice cream"). Also had a blueberry muffin at the airport.
We're boarding in an hour...
Next stop: Amsterdam, then... Oxford! 
Lots of love,
Lisa

Stockholm, day 8

Hej!
Today was a lovely day, the sun was shining and it was about 25°C. We went to Djurgården and Skansen. The first is a nice park; the latter an open air museum. The nature here is beautiful. I'm going to miss it here!

Stockholm, day 7

After all these fully planned days, it was nice to have a little rest day today. I did go to Gamla stan though to get some souvenirs :)

Stockholm, day 6

It was a rainy day, so we decided to go to the Moderna Museet. Also enjoyed a little fika at the Espresso Bar :)

Stockholm, day 5

Hey!
While writing this I am enjoying a glass of blåbär dryck (blueberry drink), very typical Swedish!
Today we went to Bergianska Trädgården, a very idyllic park including a botanical garden.
First we went to a giant rock, where we enjoyed our breakfast. Afterwards, we went climbing some rocks and sat in the sun for a while. We also walked a few miles. It was a very sunny day, so I even got a little tan!
Hejdå!

Stockholm, day 4

Hej,
Today was a calm day - however, we took a boat trip and it was fantastic!
Seeing Stockholm from the water really made me want to live there. What a lovely city.
There also was some kind of a culture festival, where they were making a castle out of cardboard. How fun!
